Golden onyx is a translucent stone: in thin sections it lets light through, which is why it is often installed backlit. Its tones run from honey to amber, with sinuous bands that form symmetrical patterns when book-matched.
It is worked polished. We have used it for the top and mirror surround of an LED-backlit vanity, and for a shelf and a top in a geodesic glass-dome bathroom.
