Limestone is a calcareous stone with a light, even colour and a fine grain that holds carving.
That is why we use it for fireplace surrounds hand-carved to order, with classical reliefs, but also for clean-lined surrounds and for bespoke staircases with soft, curved flights. It is worked honed, brushed or bush-hammered.
